Colorado's weather is changeable because it is subject to weather fronts from both the northwest & southwest. Colorado's summer is warm with average daytime temperatures ranging from 75 degrees F. in the higher elevations to 95+ degrees F. at lower elevations and on the plains. Nighttime temperatures are a delight throughout the Front Range areas as they are cooler by an average of 20 to 30 degrees F. overall; if your daytime activities extend into the late evening, bring a light jacket or sweater even for the lower elevations.

Cooking, especially baking, requires minor altitude-related adjustments. If you find yourself out of breath or easily tired, remember that your body cannot be instantly "tuned" for high altitudes; in time you will become acclimated.

    Public School Districts
    School Registration:
Public school registration will vary so it is best to contact the district where you live early to verify what they will require. It's a good idea to keep birth certificates handy. Some schools may require transfer of previous school records, which can take 14 to 30 days. Colorado's higher education institutions have in-state tuition available. To be eligible, you must reside in Colorado for 12 months, after meeting the residency requirements.
